Campaign Issues

Please help us elect William Burnett as the next Sheriff for Richmond so we can address these issues and make our community a better place.

Richmond Youth

Jane Smith Used Online Candidate for her Campaign Website CMS

Obviously, the primary responsibility for the Sheriff at the Richmond Justice Center is to house those that committed crimes within the city.

I want to offer proactive approaches with our young people to prevent them from ever becoming a resident of the Justice Center.

I will implement programs that will reach out to youth to offer potential career paths with law enforcement and mentoring opportunities as well.

I have a heart for young people and want the Richmond Justice Center to be an active community contributor to help ensure the success of the youth community in Richmond.

Crime in our City

Jane

As a Richmond Police supervisor with years of experience working violent crimes and leadership experience in both departments, I will play a major role to reduce crime in our city.

Gun Violence is a key issue that has plagued our communities continuously. I will introduce new ideas and partner with our surrounding law enforcement agencies to help make change. These years of service have given me the knowledge that is needed to reduce crime and move our city forward.

Substance Abuses and Faith Based Programing

Jane

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, every day, more than 130 people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids and unfortunately, Richmond has not escaped the opioid crisis.

As Sheriff, I will be committed to implementing robust addiction programs as well as use the same resources to help minimize the impact of the drug addiction crisis in Richmond.

It is no secret that drug addiction can often result in criminal activity and the goal for my office will be to proactively help reduce the drug addiction problem in the city.

I am also committed to partnering with others in the community to make a positive impact. In particular, I plans to rely heavily on faith-based organizations (FBOs).  FBOs play an important connecting role between the community and citizen authorities to include the Sheriff. I will use the faith community to help build  a safer comunity and ultimately better families.

Let William Burnett know what issues are important to you.

On this page, we've added a contact form so you can let William know how you feel about the issues facing our community. We can’t solve the issues if you don’t become a part of the solutions.  I will work diligently to create a strong relationship with the Richmond community to continually hear your concerns.
